Grenada Citizenship-by-Investment

The citizenship–by–investment program in Grenada was launched in August 2013 when the Grenadian Parliament passed the Citizenship by Investment Act, 2013 (Act No. 15 of 2013).

Grenada passport holders may currently travel visa-free to 124 countries including the UK and Schengen area, China, Brazil and other key business and lifestyle destinations. Furthermore, it is the only citizenship–by–investment program which holds an E–2 Investor Visa Treaty with the US, allowing Grenadian nationals the opportunity to enter and work in the US, and it is the only investor migration program in the Caribbean that offers successful applicants visa–free access to China.

Key Advantages of the Program

  • Visa-free access to 124 countries including the Schengen area, the UK, Singapore, China and Hong Kong
  • The only Caribbean citizenship–by–investment country which has visa–free access to China
  • Citizenship may be passed down to future generations without restriction
  • Lowest capital requirement compared to the other citizenship programs in St. Kitts and Nevis, Antigua and Barbuda, and St. Lucia
  • Fast and efficient application process of approximately three months from submission with no visit required

For the acceptance to the Citizenship by Investment program, the investor shall make a fixed and non-refundable donation to the NTF (National Transformation Fund).

The donation option in Grenada is a two-step process which takes more than 12 months. First step is acquiring permanent residency. Second step is to change permanent residency to citizenship of Grenada.

Process of Obtaining Citizenship of Grenada through Investment in the NTF

  1. The investor signs the NTF agreement, fills in all application forms and transfers all funds to the NTF escrow account.
  2. The application is submitted to the CBI committee with the proof of funds transferred.
  3. The due diligence process starts and usually takes 60 days.
  4. Once due diligence checks are finished, the approval from the CBI committee is received.
  5. The committee procures the Certificate of Citizenship and a passport(s) and passes it to the local agent.
  6. The documents are sent to the investor with a reputable courier service.
